The Stones Throw producer’s VGM tape series gains a seventh and eighth installment.

Knxwledge celebrated Bandcamp Friday with the release of two new beat tapes.

Extending his most recent strain of tapes, the producer added two more volumes to the ongoing VGM series, dropping a seventh and eighth installment on Friday. As the name suggests, the series features choice flips and recalibrations of songs pulled from video game soundtracks and scores; a logical extension of the producer’s gaming habits, which are occasionally broadcasted live on his Twitch channel.

The new tapes follow a brief reunion with Anderson .Paak as NxWorries earlier in the week, headlining 88 Rising’s Double Happiness Festival. The duo used their set to debut the new song, “Where I Go,” and fuel anticipation for a sophomore collaborative project (which has yet to be officially announced, but seems imminent at this point.) Earlier this year, .Paak claimed a new NxWorries album was in the works. However, the singer was hesitant to offering too many details. Knxwledge and Anderson .Paak previously reconnected on the song “itkanbe[sonice]” from the producer’s sophomore studio album, 1988. That track was recently issued as a picture disc vinyl single with a new remix from the producer on its b-side. You can grab a copy via Stones Throw today.

Hear two new tapes from Knxwledge below and hold tight for his next transmission in the weeks ahead.
