Just over one year since the release of her breakout album Over It, Summer Walker celebrates the anniversary with a special re-release. Over It (Complete Set) is a two-disc offering, with the first being the original effort and the second featuring live performances of a few of the tracks, as well as acapellas and instrumentals.

Over It debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart with 134,000 equivalent album units in October 2019 and was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in May. The project featured A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, PartyNextDoor, Jhene Aiko, Bryson Tiller, 6lack and Usher and spawned two platinum singles in “Come Thru” and “Playing Games” – with the latter going double platinum.

HipHopDX’s 2019 Singer of the Year has been busy in 2020, as the new release makes for her third effort of the year. Walker released her five-track Life On Earth EP in July, which debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 and became her second-ever Top 10. Then just recently on Monday (November 16), she teamed up with her LVRN labelmates for a nine-track Christmas album, Home for the Holidays.

Talking to Billboard earlier this month, Walker ranked R&B the superior music genre of 2020.

“R&B is better than the Hip Hop of 2020 to me because that can get super shallow and repetitive,” she said. “Or there’s the whole mumble rap trend, where you don’t even know what they’re saying. We’re really opening up, getting deeper — and that’s good.”
