Polo G embraced the remote reality of NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series by taking over a basketball court for his entry. The Columbia Record artist’s “home” edition saw him performing with a live band at an outdoor court in Los Angeles.

In a fitting choice for the setting and location, Polo and his band all wore Los Angeles Lakers jerseys for the performance. Polo celebrated one of the NBA’s all-time greats with his gear, rocking a white Magic Johnson jersey.

Polo’s set included three songs: “Flex,” “Epidemic” and “Wishing For A Hero.” While two of the cuts came from The GOAT album, “Epidemic” was a stray single he recorded during the COVID-19 pandemic.

One of the tracks from Polo’s set, “Flex” featuring the late Juice Wrld, earned its platinum certification from the Recording Industry of America (RIAA) in October. Although The GOAT album has only been certified gold, a few cuts from it have earned platinum status.

In addition to “Flex,” his single “Martin & Gina” and the Mustard-assisted “Heartless” have sold at least 1 million units each.
