Philadelphia, PA – Lil Uzi Vert was briefly detained by police on Tuesday night (October 13) for allegedly firing paintball guns from a car. According to TMZ, the Eternal Atake artist was in his hometown of Philadelphia when he decided to have a little fun with a few of his friends.

But police received a call about Lil Uzi firing what people presumed were actual guns and quickly located the group for questioning. The officers who arrived on the scene discovered seven paintball guns in the vehicle, put them in handcuffs and ultimately cited Lil Uzi.

Social media also played a role in bringing attention to Lil Uzi and his friends.

Earlier Tuesday, the 26-year-old rapper documented the paintball war with his entourage for Instagram Live and someone uploaded the footage to YouTube. The paintball guns they were using looked extremely real — almost like little uzis — and were capable of firing off multiple rounds at once. A few rounds reportedly hit an SUV that was parked on the street.

Lil Uzi made headlines earlier this week after mentioning Kanye West on Instagram, which Ye shared on his own Twitter page.

“On some real shit, Kanye West ain’t fucking with me,” Uzi said in the clip. “It’s me, like me. Like, for real though, it’s really me. Like, I ain’t gonna lie. Like, when I be making them songs and those songs only go platinum once, I do that on purpose. I swear.”

Ye ultimately assured Lil Uzi there’s no beef, tweeting, “I love UZI. I be saying the same thing about Steve Jobs I be feeling just like UZI.”
