The single follows Lennox’s recent collaboration with Anthony Ramos.

Neo-soul singer Ari Lennox has officially returned to unleash her smooth single “Chocolate Pomegranate.”

After teasing the track recently, the singer officially rolled out her latest track with a series of stunning portraits. The single is intimate and it addresses Ari’s sharing that she’s the only one perfect for the lover she’s singing about.

“Try me in public but I know this much is true, no one’s gonna ride and love you like I do, ooh-ooh. Said chocolate pomegranate, come live in this truth, no one’s gonna ride and love you like I do,” Lennox sings on the single’s hook.

“Chocolate Pomegranate” was written with Dijon Stylez and produced by Dreamville producer Elite. The release follows Lennox’s premiere of a Genius performance that dropped earlier this month.

Recently, Lennox dropped a collaboration with Anthony Ramos, “If You Want Me to Stay,” a remake of the classic cut by Sly and the Family Stone. We caught up with the songstress right before this song released and she shared it made her feel inspired again. On it she said:

“[With “You Want Me to Stay”] I was really able to be inspired all over again through such a legendary, legendary artist and which I think could help with future writing. Yeah. I haven’t been productive musically outside of this cover.”

If you’re as obsessed with her 2019 album Shea Butter Baby as we are, you’re probably curious what Ari has been up to during the COVID-19 pandemic. When speaking on that she shared she purchased her first home this year and she’s been focusing on getting it together. During quarantine she’s also been taking her dog on walks, enjoying him, and kept herself busy with crime shows and home improvement tasks.

“Chocolate Pomegranate” has inklings of Shea Butter Baby tracks like “Up Late,” “BMO” and “Pop.” Overall, the song is an enjoyable listen. We’re hoping it points to a forthcoming EP or album from Ari.
