As Kanye West continues to renegotiate his label deal, he’s temporarily turned his focus to business partners Gap and Adidas. Kanye is demanding a seat at the table in both companies’ board rooms before moving forward with either.

“I’M WEARING JORDANS TILL I’M ON THE BOARD OF ADIDAS,” he tweeted early Thursday (September 24).

It remains to be seen if Kanye is seriously considering going back to wearing Jordans again, but it’s highly unlikely he’d ever support the company after things ended sourly following the pair Yeezy-Nike collaborations. During his interview with Nick Cannon, he stated it’s part of his contract that he actually can’t wear Jordans.

Kanye also threatened to not release his Yeezy Gap line, which is slated to drop in the first half of 2021, until Gap gives him a seat on their board. He signed a lucrative 10-year partnership deal back in July to launch a Yeezy Gap line.

“I’M NOT RELEASING NOTHING ON GAP TILL I’M ON THE BOARD,” he wrote. “WE WILL BE RECOGNIZED.”

With Kanye looking to change the music business for good, he’ll also be giving back all of his G.O.O.D. Music artists the 50 percent of their masters that he owned as part of their contracts with the label.

“Thank you!!! This would help so much,” Big Sean replied.

Billboard caught up with the Chicago legend on Wednesday (September 23) to get a deeper explanation regarding his crusade against the music biz.

“My brand and influence goes way beyond just music and that of course is meaningful to Vivendi, as it is to Adidas and many other conglomerates,” he said. “If that helps me be able to help free all artists, of course I’m going to use it.”
