Mozzy has released a mini-documentary highlighting his efforts to give back to his hometown of Sacramento and the people living on Los Angeles’ Skid Row. The short film shows the West Coast rapper donating meals, handing out toys during the holiday season and spending time with the community.

“I specifically started giving back, providing for the less fortunate just based on I was one of them,” he says. “I come from that, so I know what it feels like.”

He adds, “And the whole motivation behind getting thus far is my people. They the ones who was pushing for me. They was the ones who was rooting for me. I’m gonna continue to provide for my people. It’s really the way I operate internally.”

In the nine-minute video, Mozzy also speaks about how his hometown influences his work.

“My city, I’m grateful, I’m thankful for it,” he explains. “It humbles me. My music wouldn’t be my music without Sacramento. The language, the flavor, the seasoning — it’s Sacramento based.”
