Swizz Beatz and Timbaland’s Verzuz platform has become the marquee event during the COVID-19 pandemic. Fans have been throwing out all types of battles they want to see on Verzuz — and many of them include 50 Cent.

Some of the requested battles fans want to see 50 take part in are against JAY-Z, Ja Rule and The Game, but those aren’t likely to happen. However, the Queens-bred legend did give his thoughts on a Verzuz he’d want to see. While promoting his Branson Cognac brand on Tuesday (December 22), 50 revealed Drake would be the best option for Lil Wayne.

“I think because of the momentum, the best thing would probably be [Lil] Wayne vs. Drake,” 50 said. “To keep it real with you. There’s two different styles in the same period so it will be entertaining enough to watch both of them.”

Drake and Lil Wayne had already battled each other when they embarked on the Drake vs. Lil Wayne Tour in summer 2014. Both rappers faced off at a series of concerts inspired by the Street Fighter video game to determine who they thought was the best rapper in the world. Through a voting app, fans picked who performed first and who won.

The Get Rich or Die Tryin’ rapper also explained a battle between Drake and Lil Wayne would be on the same level energy-wise as him taking on Eminem.

“You still see that energy that I keep telling you about with me and Em because Wayne provided that opportunity to Drake,” 50 said.

During a recent interview with HipHopDX, Ja Rule mentioned how his archrival 50 does not want any smoke with him in the Verzuz arena. Ja stated it would only take a phone call for him to sign off on the bout but reiterated the battle would never really happen. He wants his Verzuz to be less about his beefs with other rappers and more about fun and the celebration of music.

“Listen, man, I love Verzuz, I love what it is, I love to see artists getting in there and doing the shit, but if I did one, if I did do a Verzuz, I would want my Verzuz to be fun,” Ja explained. “That’s what Verzuz is supposed to be about — the celebration of music and the art, and the artistry. So, I would want my Verzuz to be fun, and filled with love in the room and shit, and that sort of thing.”
