Oakland County, MI – Detroit rapper 42 Dugg was reportedly arrested in Oakland County, Michigan on Monday (August 3).

According to TMZ, Oakland County’s chief assistant prosecutor Paul Walton said the arrest comes nearly two months after Dugg (real name Dion Marquise Hayes) fled from Michigan police in a Detroit suburb.

Walton explained when officers attempted pull over a 2020 Chevy Tahoe for running a stop sign last month, the driver took off as soon as the cop approached the vehicle. Although the driver momentarily got away, officers were able to run the license plates and figure out the car was a Hertz rental.

The rental agreement was under a local promotor’s name and police soon discovered Dugg was one of the promotor’s clients. Walton said a detective analyzed surveillance video in the area and determined Dugg was the behind the wheel. Officers ultimately located Dugg and booked him for fleeing a police officer, a third-degree felony.

The 25-year-old artist posted $20,000 bond and got slapped with a GPS ankle monitor as part of his conditional release. If convicted, Dugg faces up to five years in prison, a $1,000 fine and suspension of his license for for year. He’s expected back in court next week.
